FAQ
How do we begin?
We’ll begin with a 45-minute consultation to see whether working together feels like a good fit, or if a different approach might serve you better. The first few sessions are focused on building our connection and getting a sense of what you need, since feeling comfortable and understood is essential for therepeutic success. I encourage you to honor your intuition and openly share your needs and preferences throughout our work together.

What is psychoanalysis?
A type of psychotherapy that happens more frequently during the week, which allows for a different depth of listening. We pay attention not only to what you say, but how you feel in the room, the echoes of early relationships, unconscious dynamics, your dreams, and the things that keep repeating in your life. The aim is to understand the emotional logic underneath these patterns so your self can feel less fragmented.
What is EMDR therapy?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an experiential way of working with trauma, memory, and places in you that feel stuck or frozen in time. Using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or taps), we stay with images, feelings, and body sensations tied to past experiences. This helps your nervous system process what was overwhelming before, so those experiences become part of your story rather than something that keeps disrupting your sense of self in the present.
Do you work with eating disorders?
Yes. I have a particular interest in working with eating disorders and the emotional worlds that accompany them. When someone is in active recovery from a more severe eating disorder, I collaborate closely with a full treatment team (such as physician, psychiatrist, and dietician) so you're supported holistically.
How often do we meet?
I recommend meeting weekly or more often. Therapy is most effective when sessions build on one another, allowing us to track what's happening in your life in real time and work with the patterns as they emerge.
Payment & Insurance
For questions about payment, reach out to me at kyliehornerlcsw@gmail.com or call (856) 381-8485.
I’m not in-network with insurance panels. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill for you to submit for reimbursement. Many clients receive 60–80% of session fees back once their deductible is met.
I also reserve a portion of my practice for those in need and offer reduced-fee slots when available.
