About
Welcome! I’m Kylie Horner, LCSW. I’m a psychotherapist with offices in Beacon, NY and Manhattan. I earned my MSW from Hunter College and began my clinical work at the NYU McSilver Institute and Safe Horizon, providing treatment to individuals navigating trauma, chronic stress, and systemic hardship. Those early years shaped the way I understand the self: as something formed in relationship, influenced by identity, and impacted by the environments we develop in.
I’m now a post-graduate candidate in psychoanalysis at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. My approach is grounded in self-psychology and contemporary relational theory, with attention to how early attachment patterns, family dynamics, cultural context, and modern stressors — including technology, work demands, and social media — shape a person’s internal world. I approach treatment collaboratively, with an emphasis on curiosity, affect, and the therapeutic relationship as primary vehicles for change.
Before entering the field, I studied journalism at the University of Colorado and worked in both journalism and fintech. I also trained extensively in ballet. These experiences contribute to my understanding of perfectionism, ambition, sensitivity, and the mind–body connection. Outside of clinical practice, I maintain a steady yoga practice, which supports my interest in integrative and embodied approaches to self-understanding.
I treat adults across the lifespan, and my areas of clinical focus include depression, anxiety, trauma, relational difficulties, identity development, and eating disorders. My goal is to provide a thoughtful, attuned space where patients can explore their internal experience, deepen self-understanding, and work toward more flexible, grounded ways of being.
